Silver Streaks

Many designers as well as some Olympiads have dipped into gold, as you saw from my Olympic post last week, but steely silver doesn’t have to take a back seat. A silver metal isn’t any worse than a gold in my book, as it shines, glimmers, and it plays the same reflecting game as gold. I’m loving silver right now as they give your look a decidedly futuristic feel. Silver is as neutral as black and white. Many designers showcased metallics for Spring 2012 and the trend doesn’t seem to be waning. I even starting investing in many shiny pieces, see City Dressing, from back in June, in case you forgot and  continue to hunt down the latest in metals. Today on the Fashion Hunter, I give you a head-to-toe glitterati look without the gala. Pick one that you love, or wear them all together as a thematic statement. You can have your cake and eat it too. My suggestion? If you are doing the full-on metal top and bottom, keep the accessories simple. Since metallics pack a huge visual punch (See eyes and lips below) all on their own, there’s no need to go overboard here. If you find yourself with the need to reflect, I ask you to look down.

Fashion creds: left to right top to bottom. Topshop by Illustrated People lips cropped top , Theyskens’ Theory Nalaminium postal leather trousers, Delfina Delettrez Face Ring, Acne silver pullover, Anya Hindmarch silver clutch, Golden Goose Silver Bronze Super Star sneakers, LoLo Jewels Silver Metallic Charm bracelet.

You can be sure that I will be pulling out that Phillip Lim 31 Minute bag come Fashion week with the sneaks and Acne top above. Or how about the lip and eye ring? It’s cool in every sense of the word. On that note, have a shiny Wednesday!
