From the vault

My own version of March madness usually has me spring cleaning and organizing my entire closet as I am supremely sick at the thought of looking at all of my winter sweaters. After today’s high of 70 degrees, it is obvious that mother nature is fickle but I hope spring will continue to throw us a bone. The weekend is supposed to barely hit 50 degrees so I am not packing those wooly threads away quite yet. Feeling creatively uninspired, not quite ready to dip into those summer sheers, I tend to lean on the good old standbys like denim, utility jackets, tons of accessories, and leather. It’s a great option when you don’t have time to think of what to wear, or even check the Weather Channel. This a great way to shop your own closet: you have a denim jacket, you have jeans, pair with a pop of color, go on your merry way.

Thousands of outfits later, with every hemline, silhouette, and color having changed throughout the seasons, there are things to be said for staying power. This denim badass jacket designed by Olympia Le Tan, was a collaboration in ’08 before collaborations meant things like waiting all-night in line at a store, but simply going into a shop and selecting the goods. I loved Colette when I lived in Paris and couldn’t wait for its brief pop-up arrival in NYC. My “Darklands” jacket was calling my name, as so was a pair of Repetto flats.

Here’s to the red lipstick that I clearly forgot– it would have been the bomb. Tell me your thoughts, I’d love to hear.  xoxo
