Travel Light

When I travel in the summer months to any warm weather destination, I tend to pack less. Any savvy traveler knows that when heading to any place other than the Hamptons, there are massive sales on beachwear. Especially in the Caribbean. I love wearing white as you know, and certainly adding black makes great company. Splashing in the waves, sunbathing, or chilling après-beach constitutes a mellow vibe no matter how you slice it. I like my beachwear very simple, flattering, clean, modern and above all, comfortable.

Below is a collage of some of my favorite things out there in the world-wide web and seven key pieces that you will need for your summer scrapbook. Pull back your messy beach hair, grab your favorite book, and get packing. Here’s how to make a monochrome palette your beachside signature.

Ray-Ban polarized lenses for the sun’s strong UV rays, Topshop  white Dip Dye Maxi Cover-up, $72.00, ZIMMERMAN Triangle bikini for the truly daring, or go for the black sleek one-piece Poetic License crocheted Lisa Maree number. Grab the hat, this one by Eugenia Kim. For après-beach, don’t forget the necklace, this one Oscar de la Renta vintage-inspired. And finally, for those with a  shoe fetishisation, these Christian Louboutin striped espadrilles have the perfect heel and just right pow, when hanging with the millionaire set. Can’t afford to travel? A staycation in your house or apartment in this get-up will make you feel like a million bucks.

See you on the beach!
