You have kept cool all summer long with the AC blasting and your summer frocks. Now that the Labor Day holiday has come and gone, sadly so has the summer of 2016. Summer officially ends on September 22nd, so you have a little time to spare. Start now prepping in the name of fashion and changing over your wardrobe from summer whites to fall blues. The fun doesn’t actually end here, it just begins. Back to school for you or for the kids, prepping lunches, planning your daily looks. To keep the fashion momentum going as the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler, don’t rehaul your entire wardrobe! Restyle the five pieces you had in rotation all summer long.
This is a small style update to make in your wardrobe, rather than a big investment in money or time. This time of year can be overwhelming. If you can create space in your closet of what to wear, I find that it helps me tremendously. Ahh space! But first, keep the off the shoulder blouse. It is not going anywhere. Update it with a denim skirt. Add closed shoes in replace of sandals. Update your summer classics, thus you have a new wardrobe.
Style Update: Boho Blouse
Don’t put away that bohemian-inspired blouse for next year’s summer festivals. It’s perfectly fall friendly.
How to Style It:
- Slip into a denim skirt in autumnal tones like burgundy, black, or deep navy.
- Tuck your sandals away and bring your ankle booties or tall boots out of storage.
- Want to to show off some leg? Try cuffing your denim which gives your ankles some breathing room.

Style Update: Update your watch and accessories.
I love this all black one from Christian Paul watches. Its simple and soo chic. I love these cat eye sunglasses, rather than last season’s aviators. They add oomph to a new look for Fall. Start transitioning now, rather than cramming it in it all in in October.
