Resort Shoe trends 2011
Fashion rule #103: You can never have too many shoes.
Many of my favorite brands were on hand at the show giving their interpretations of the shoe trends for Spring 2012. House of Harlow, Charles by Charles David, N.Y.L.A., Vince Camuto, Fever, Jeffrey Campbell, are just a few of the designers that blew me away.
Many of the vendors were wary of us camera toting fashion bloggers who were taking shoe shots and I respect the discretion companies used when it came to protecting their new designs. Of course, I was only taking pictures to put them up on my personal blog to show my readers the latest and greatest.
Double Platforms
The platform heel is continuing on as a monster trend that shows no sign of abating. With an even bigger heel, over 4 ½ inches (!) they commanded a lot of attention just sitting on those racks. I can only imagine what they will do for fashionable feet.
Fabrics were rising to the next level. I noticed fun materials, such as cork, Lucite, canvas, and even denim.
Prada came out with the Flatform for Spring. Not sure if I will be a Flatform fan, but they look mighty cool.
Color blocking in super brights:
The color of shoes are much brighter than the heels from Spring 2012.
Bright yellow caught my eye as a color to look out for. This not to be missed shade was everywhere. Think Neon highlighters.
Snakeskin in color.
Taken to the next level, animal skins have become ubiquitous on the runways in New York and have moved onto the streets. Live and in color, they are just another way to show off your glamorous side.
Rhinestones and sparkles:
Forget your earrings. Don these shoes and you will not have to add a touch of glam to your outfit. It will be done for you.
