Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring Summer 2019 Diary

In the design savvy, good-looking, food obsessed, Danish capital the only problem for travelers is keeping up with all thats new. It was my first time attending Copenhagen and never once did I feel like an outsider. I was lucky to have attended over 12 shows and presentations in the 4 short days I was there. Getting from place to place presented somewhat of a challenge, but the fashion office provided a double decker pink bus that transported us from venue to venue. The Danish fashion scene is emerging with a capital E. All eyes are on the Scandi girl and the New Nordic look right now. I think what they do so unique here in Denmark is their way of dressing effortless and stylish... Read More

The One Piece Outfit that Simplifies Summer Dressing

In the beginning of August, I am still celebrating all things summer. But not as you know it. Forget sandy beaches for a minute, we’re championing a summer in the city. And specially, how to solve styling dilemmas to get ready for the hot and humid days ahead. Not only is it muggy, but coupled with getting dressed for work on a Monday morning in the middle of a heat wave isn’t fun. The struggle gets real when it comes to putting together outfits that are both office appropriate and comfy enough to wear in 90-degree weather. I found the one piece outfit that simplifies summer dressing. The One Piece Outfit that Simplifies Summer Dressing The one solution that I promise will save you at least several minutes... Read More

How To Style A Denim Skirt

When I first saw denim skirts hit the streets, I promised myself I would never buy into the thing we paired with polos and t-shirts. Seriously, these skirts go way way back when Laguna Beach was still on TV. I wasn’t sure I could make it work. The denim skirt is a tricky piece. I did my research, celebrity style stalking, and visited many dressing room mirrors. It wasn’t until recently that I figured out the ultimate trick: keep it simple and let the skirt steal the spotlight. So, after some consideration, and browsing through various itinerations of the denim skirt, I was sold. I added this 70’s staple to my wardrobe, and haven’t looked back since. From button-downs, lacy white tops, to plain white... Read More

How to Style A Shirtdress

Sometimes, it’s all in the details. While there are a multitude of dress trends I am coveting for spring, I am falling for a simple style that’s far from new: the belted shirtdress. With a built-in method for creating the illusion of a cinched waist and a timeless, vintage-inspired silhouette, the combination has proven itself to be a universally flattering on all body types. One of my go-to looks for spring, a shirtdress is stylistically appealing on all body types. At times, I struggle with wearing them because sometimes they aren’t a dress nor a shirt, but something in between. But belted shirtdresses have come a long way from the poplin standard of their past. Now, there are bold color options, plunging necklines, mini skirt and... Read More
