Two Hot New Fashion Trends for Summer
It finally felt like summer this weekend with temps rising above the 80’s. I was so happy to bring out my summer gear as the weather has been so fickle this spring. I don’t remember a spring where I was this confused about what to wear on the daily. As a matter of fact, when I am in limbo, I tend to dig deep into my closet and mix and match what I already own. Of course if I am looking for a little wardrobe makeover, I go for a trend that won’t break the bank. This spring, I purchased a pair of paper-bag waist khaki pants and this tube top, two hot new fashion trends for summer that add so much more to any simple white T-shirt and jeans.

For a pair of pants that will show off your best assets, slip into a pair of paper-bag pants. Choose a wide-leg style to cinch in your waist and make your legs look like they go on forever. They are usually a little baggy, making these extremely comfortable to wear.
Tube Top Revival
2001 called to announce the return of yet another beloved item from the aughts: the tube top.Bust out your flip phone because the midriff-skimming, tight-to-the-torso silhouette you remember from The Simple Life—has joined nostalgia-fueled bags and Bermuda shorts on the list of items getting an unexpected reboot for spring 2018. This season’s riff on the tube top is a bit more evolved than its original iteration.
The styles are pared-back, and it might take you a second to spot these tube tops out in the wild. Seen without their former partners-in-crime, low-rise jeans, you’re more likely to see them worn under blazers and oversize suiting. Or even layered over a button-down for a whimsy take on business casual—sleek AF. I layered mine over a T-shirt for an unexpected look.
Armed with these fresh takes, the paper bag trousers and tube top hope to win back hearts, minds, and closets this spring. If you’re unsure of whether you should buy into the trend, these pics below hope to inspire you and your closet!
