End of Summer Uniform

I went Fall shopping yesterday. It was a mini disaster, not because there wasn’t a huge selection of choices, but because I am not ready to indulge in mustard-colored sweatersdark florals, and other fall favorites quite yet. I am a summer girl at heart and am still relishing the late summer sun before the autumnal breezes start coming in.

With fashion week coming up and leisurely summer weekends ceasing, I decided this past weekend to really check things off my summer to-do list. Things like replacing white sheets and towels for fresh ones, sorting through that huge pile of mail, and deep apartment cleaning.

But before I bid summer adieu, here is what I will miss.

1. Climbing out of the freezing cold ocean.

2. Exercising and then eating those calories outdoors.

3. Editing my closet  down to a science. Just kidding.

This season, I put away my white jeans and instead opted for gauzy sheaths.  Maybe it’s because everybody wore white denim 24/7 and they felt so over and done, so I retired my 10 pairs to the back of my closet. Until this week when I started wearing them again.

If striped tops and baggy white jeans would have to be my go-to uniform for fall, I would be fine with that. The best part of summer is being able to grab your uniform, whether it’s a white T-shirt and shorts or a dress from the night before, then slipping your feet into the nearest pair of sandals and heading out the door for the next 12 hours. Like I always said, white jeans are a year-round staple, not just a summer fling.

There is a chance to squeeze in two long, languid weeks left of summer if you stay true to the autumnal equinox so tell me, for the love of a sunny weekend on the horizon, what are you going to miss about summer? Chime in!

Happy Friday!
