Dipped in Blue
Did this morning’s alarm clock hit you on the head like a hedge hammer? Check. Me too. It is very hard to adjust back to getting up at 7am, pumped and ready for the daily grind when the thermometer hits 40 degrees as a high, to first start thinking about getting dressed. What? I know what will go into my Matcha Tea smoothie, but can’t figure out what to wear. You with me?
I would so love to constantly be inspired by my wardrobe angel and have the garments in my closet come to me and figure it all out for themselves. But where’s the creativity in that? Getting dressed can be such a drag and sometimes you just want to throw in the proverbial towel and call it quits on this thing called fashion.
Everybody has a different lifestyle, places to go that demand different protocol. But if you practice at pulling things together, it can become clearer how to work your wardrobe to its maximum potential.
Here’s a first stab at how to dress this week tapping into fall’s trend for wide leg pants and monochrome dressing. Bright cobalt blue is on the color wheel for Fall, and I didn’t think I could pull it off especially by infusing an unlikely white to balance it out. And that wall? Swear it wasn’t planned.
Don’t like blue? Try black. Balance the wide leg with a cropped sweater and sneakers today. Tomorrow, try pointy-toe flats.
