A Suede Skirt

Suede mini skirts might just be my favorite part of the 70’s trend movement. The rich texture and colors are ideal for Fall, especially in a patchwork print. You might be thinking as I write this, there is no way can I wear this bold outfit. Trust me, you can. You just need some confidence to pull it off and little tug from me. If patchwork isn’t your thing, there are plenty of suede skirts in sold colors that will also be right on trend. A suede skirt can be worn with bare legs or tights when the weather gets nippy. I like to wear skirts in November knowing that my legs might not see the light of day until next Spring. It is clearly taking advantage of the warmer temps we have had recently, and I’m OK with that. The perfect combo for a great fall look? A tight-fitting turtleneck, a suede skirt, and over-the-knee boots. Bada boom.

Several designers showed suede skirts in various denominations like this Anna Sui number in embroidered faux suede. See also designers like Burberry Prorsum, Valentinoand Lanvin piling on the texture overload to create a 70’s technicolor dream. Fashion has become fun again!

I like to buy into the trends of the moment  with a few stand out pieces. Remember to keep a bevy of basics to resort to in their closet. A few weeks ago, I saw this patchwork suede tie front skirt hiding in a rack at the Manhattan Vintage Show and knew right away that it was my technicolor dream. And for $50? That major score sealed the deal.
