Blazers were the jacket trend that no one saw coming. Don’t be surprised by the blazer’s comeback, everything in fashion comes back in some way. The tried-and-true wardrobe staple is the key to professional power dressing for so many in the workforce. But now that the fashion force has taken over, can it be trendy in the fleeting sense of the word? The staple jacket has emerged in a work to dinner trend for the season, the blazer dress. And for the record, I am not mad about it.

The blazer dress is one of my latest favorite fashion pieces. I have always been a great fan of elegant and stylish blazers. They will make any look so classy, no matter if you wear it with a pair of jeans or with a clean business outfit. And there are designs in many fabrics and patterns – the good old plaid version or a straight black dinner jacket the styles are amazing. And here comes the extended blazer version: the blazer dress. It must become your favorite, too. It looks elegant and sexy at the same time and gives a short dress a quite sophisticated image. You can wear it at the office, for business meetings and just as well for an evening cocktail or a dinner party with friends.

How to Wear a Blazer Dress

I love day to night fashion, especially when you are so busy like myself. Tack on family obligations and invites on the calendar this time of year gets overwhelming. Stylist’s tip: Always carry statement accessories along for the ride, and the look can be changed in no time. The blazer dress is for sure a must have! It’s just chic and so wearable.

Fashion girls have co-opted the practical trend alongside designers who are reimagining the piece the coolest new blazer styles. These days, we’re spotting new blazer trends

If I was forced to wear one thing to work every day for the rest of my life, I’d choose a blazer. A good one makes you look as put-together as Emmanuelle Alt, even if you’re just wearing it with Converse and a T-shirt. Make a blazer fun if your workplace is fairly corporate.  And it doesn’t hurt that blazers are super-trendy at the moment — either as a separate, a dress, or as part of a suit.
