Fashion week isn’t all just about the clothes. As I mentioned here last week, it is the vibe – the music, the models, basically everything put together before it becomes a successful show. Then it’s a game of editors wanting to put the samples on their models, and retailers wanting to place bets on millions of dollars of merchandise to get the goods on their floor. It’s commerce in the fashion world to obtain the magic key to unlock consumer spending.
It is also important that there is a cohesion among the designers to form a trend, and consumers will feel a sense of confidence and know what to buy. Right now, its quite obvious that the bohemian movement is back, just go to your nearest mall and walk around. But for Fall, at least in New York, there was a mix of trends – folkloric and Victorian-inpired look on one hand, and 90’s minimalism on the other.
So, to save you from the wrath of purchasing another pair of pants you will no doubt never want to see again come September, Normcore be gone!, here is a list of things you will definitely want to wear in their place. Pussy-bow and high neck blouses
Joseph Altuzarra went for a subtly sexy look, as he is wont to do, pairing this high neck blouse with his signature slit skirt.

Flare leg jeans
At Trina Turk, the rendition felt very 70’s thanks to the monochrome belted jacket and flared leg.
How about these denim digs from Au Jour Le Jour?
Jumpsuits are an easy way to get catch the cool bohemian vibe without trying too hard. They are a one-piece wonder. I love this one from Zimmerman.
How about suspenders from Costello Tagliapietra!
