Fashion month is over. Le sigh. Two weeks into March, according to reliable meteorological sources (that beloved groundhog Phil), Spring is lurking around the corner somewhere. Which, to most people, is a relief. But the shedding of winter’s extra layers isn’t always a smooth transition. In fact, the vernal season is known for its meteorological back-and-forth fickleness, vacillating between cold fronts and heat waves in a single day. There are no warning signs during this fickle month, one day its cold and rainy, and the next, out come the daffodils. In other words, versatility is key when it comes to balancing looking good with staying comfortable over the next few months.
Which is exactly why you should be reaching for a wool-blend blazer. Take your cues from the Frenchies, they take one awesome piece and build around it. Frankly, I have been wearing a mixed bag of denim, vests, leather, and plaid — all verified staples in my wardrobe, with different outerwear (see a bright yellow coat, a leather jacket, and a versatile wool vest) that I will never tire of. Today on the Fashion Hunter, the blazer is the focus but the accessories are the enablers. Cheers to a grey cross-body bag that stands alone as a wallet, a funtastic green neck warmer and large-brimmed hat, mirrored lenses, pumps with florets, and of course, the blazer. It looks great layered under with a menswear double-breasted coat, with a T-shirt, or on its own. It is a classic piece taken from the book of style.
