From the Plexiglas heels on the runways this past season at Christian Louboutin and Rodarte, to the almost sheer handbags at Phillip Lim, it seems that everything from shoes to handbags are in a transparent mood. When else do you get the chance to view the contents of a stranger’s handbag, shampoo and tampons included? It is a wakeup call to keep our contents neat and under control. It was just last week that I wore these PVC black Oscar de la Renta sandals. If you have been following my blog, you remember how I was boiling in the sun and as much as I enjoy wearing those sandals, Plexiglas doesn’t breathe, so sweat balls unabashedly poured out of my feet. So glad you noted my freshly pedicured dark blue toenails. Cue the
feet sandals below.
Here we have a prime example of transparency to its fullest. This chic showgoer is running to the Mens shows in Paris whilst rummaging through her Chanel chain bag. Clearly the contents are for everyone to see. I can get down with that.
I remember back when clear accessories were trendy and I swore I would never wear them. I should never swear. I love the chic accessories and will adopt and ultimately fall for this trend. Below I have put together a collage-o’lage for your perusing and shopping pleasure. These show-me-all-you-got Perspex, are the hottest thing since sliced bread. Where shades reign clear and Charlotte Olympia’s collection is at an all-time high, it’s apparent that clear accessories are having a moment.
Oliver Peoples clear Framed acetate sunglasses, Charlotte Olympia Pandora Perspex clutch, 3.1 Phillip Lim clear Pashli Satchel, Christian Louboutin Just Picks 100 studded patent leather and PVC pumps.
What are your thoughts? Would you show all or does this scream fashion victim? I need to know. Happy Monday!
